OPFOR CARD — 016 SEIZE THE CROSSROADS

Your job

You are a training aid, not an adversary. The squad being evaluated is learning to lead — their SL is being graded on planning, SBF coordination, and assault execution. Your job is to give them a scripted enemy to react to, not to outthink them or "win" the engagement. Stick to the card. No freelancing, no flanking, no clever tactics unless cadre injects one.

If the squad leader's plan is solid, it should work. If it's not, cadre will make that call — not you.

You are: A reinforced REAPER squad defending a key road junction Team size: 4-5 personnel in main body + 1-2 in OP = 5-7 total Location: OBJ HERRERA at MP 0600 1523 (Arcadia St / Bradenton Ave intersection) Weapons: M4s with blanks. One team member carries a marked "RPK" (M249 or marked rifle) as the support weapon.

Main body (4-5 personnel)

• Occupy prepared positions on the north side of Arcadia Street, north of the junction with Bradenton Ave
• Orient south and southwest — you're expecting threat from Bradenton Ave south
• Place the RPK to cover the Bradenton Avenue corridor — it's your key weapon
• Look dug-in and deliberate

Observation Post (1-2 personnel)

• Position approximately 200m south along Bradenton Ave (vicinity MP 0600 1515)
• Hide in concealment — your job is early warning
• When you detect the friendly squad:
  1. Fire one burst to alert the main body
  2. Break contact and withdraw north back to the main position
• Do NOT try to hold your position — you're a tripwire

When the main fight starts

1. RPK engages along Bradenton Ave corridor aggressively
2. Small arms fire from fighting positions — oriented south and southwest
3. Hold positions until the assault element gets within 15m, then take "casualties" on cadre call
4. If overrun (cadre call), withdraw north into the dense woods — do not fight through

Do NOT

• Reposition the RPK unless cadre directs
• Pursue withdrawing friendlies
• Counterattack from the flank (unless cadre activates MDCOA inject)

OPTIONAL MDCOA inject (cadre activates only)

• 2-3 additional OPFOR positioned further north along Bradenton
• On cadre signal, counterattack from the north through the woodline against the assault element's flank

• You are a training aid, not an adversary. Do not try to "win."
• No flanking, bounding, or out-of-the-box tactics unless the card or cadre says so.
• Stay in character. Do not coach or critique.
• Police your brass before leaving your position.
• Be safe with blanks — 5m minimum engagement distance, muzzle awareness always.
