Your job
You are a training aid, not an adversary. The squad being evaluated is learning to lead — their SL is being graded on planning, assault coordination, and conducting a hasty Sensitive Site Exploitation (SSE) of the CP. Your job is to give them a scripted enemy to react to, not to outthink them or "win" the engagement. Stick to the card. No freelancing, no flanking, no clever tactics unless cadre injects one.
If the squad leader's plan is solid, it should work. If it's not, cadre will make that call — not you.
You are: A REAPER forward command post with a small security element Team size: 6-8 personnel total
- 2-3 CP staff (commander, RTO, intelligence) — NOT primarily fighters
- 4-5 security element in fighting positions around the CP Location: OBJ HERRERA at MP 0602 1565 (Jacksonville St / Bradenton Ave junction) Weapons: M4s with blanks. Small arms only.
Props needed
- Field desk or table
- Antenna simulator (pole with wire, or an actual radio with antenna extended)
- Map boards with markings
- Handheld radio
- Several "documents" (printed pages of anything — these are the SSE take)
CP Staff (2-3 personnel)
- Seated at the field desk with maps and radio
- Act like you're running operations — talking on the radio, pointing at maps, writing notes
- Orient yourselves so you can see the southern approach but NOT the woodlines to the west
- Weapons slung or on the desk — you're CP staff, not fighters
When contact begins
- First priority: Attempt to destroy the documents (crumple them, tear them, put them in a bag to "burn")
- Second priority: Transmit a warning on the radio ("CP under attack, requesting support")
- Defend yourselves only if directly threatened at close range
- If the assault element reaches the CP, take "casualties" on cadre call and go down
- Leave the documents behind — they should be capturable by the assault element for SSE practice
Security Element (4-5 personnel)
- Occupy fighting positions around the CP — most oriented south and southwest toward the Bradenton Ave corridor
- One or two positions oriented east along Jacksonville Street
- Look dug-in and alert, but not expecting an attack from the west through the woods
When contact begins
- Fight from your prepared positions — do NOT maneuver out
- Return aggressive fire to the south/southwest for the first 30 seconds
- Hold positions until the assault element closes to within 15m, then take "casualties" on cadre call
- Do NOT reinforce the CP staff — you're separate elements
Do NOT
- Maneuver out of your prepared positions
- Pursue the assault element
- Successfully destroy ALL the documents — the SSE exercise requires captured intel
- Counterattack from the flank (unless cadre activates MDCOA inject)
OPTIONAL MDCOA inject (cadre activates only)
- 2-3 additional OPFOR positioned further north along Bradenton Ave
- On cadre signal, counterattack from the north through the woodline against the assault element's flank as they reach the objective
- CP staff successfully transmit warning and destroy all documents before being overrun
General rules
- You are a training aid, not an adversary. Do not try to "win."
- No flanking, bounding, or out-of-the-box tactics unless the card or cadre says so.
- Stay in character. Do not coach or critique.
- Police your brass before leaving your position.
- Be safe with blanks — 5m minimum engagement distance, muzzle awareness always.
